In recent months, the Danish Artist Association has received several member enquiries about the conflict in the Middle East.

"War brings unfortunate casualties. Often artists are trapped or directly attacked. Including the independent Freedom Theatre in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, which recently came under military attack.

We recognise that conflicts in the world's hotspots create a great need to speak out and act actively. Thank you for your enquiries, which we take seriously. The Danish Artist Association stands in solidarity with artists in war-torn areas and works for the freedom and independence of art at all times.

Through our international umbrella organisation FIA, we support the Ukrainian trade union in helping artists and their families financially. The union supports current relief work through the organisation Doctors Without Borders. If you are a musician or artist looking for an opportunity to take action, there is currently a petition for a ceasefire in the war in the Middle East," says Sara Indrio, Chairperson of the Danish Artist Association
