In the budget proposal that the government has just presented, money has been earmarked for two support schemes that the Danish Artist Association, along with several organisations, has identified as important for the music industry.

These are the schemes for network and genre venues and the scheme for new concert formats.

Both schemes were about to expire, but can now be found in the Finance Bill. A total of DKK 54.8 million - DKK 13.7 million per year - will be allocated over three years. Funds to ensure that live rhythmic music is developed and strengthened throughout the country.

Artist spokesperson Sara Indrio is pleased that the government has listened to the music organisations' call to continue the schemes:

"Both schemes literally help to spread live music and the work of artists and musicians. They make a difference, both when it comes to developing new concerts and local music environments. I'm glad to see that the government and the Minister of Culture also recognise this. Now I hope that this prioritisation will continue all the way through to the final budget agreement."

Earlier this year, music organisations called for the pools to continue. Read the opinion piece from Danish Artists Association, Danish Musicians Association and Danish Live
