Since 2020, as an artist advocate, she has communicated the working conditions of her colleagues and strengthened the rights of performing and creative artists through concrete results, legislation and new knowledge.

On the occasion of Sara's birthday, the Danish Artist Association invites you to a reception on 22 January from 15 - 18

Sara Indrio puts artists' potentials and conditions at the centre

A long career as a songwriter, musician and actor has given Sara Indrio a keen eye for the need to make the music and performing arts industry better for artists and music creators.

Her professional political work is characterised by close and committed collaboration with artists, politicians and key people and institutions in the music industry.

Sara Indrio is deputy chair of Gramex, Performex and the Royal Academy of Music, sits on a number of CopyDan boards and was the only artist representative on the Ministry of Culture's restart team.

She co-initiates several major industry initiatives that deal with the streaming economy, gender equality, tax and employment conditions, and mental health. This includes the new leadership network, 'The Music Industry Partnership for Sustainable Development', where she sits on the steering committee. Everything she does is rooted in the conviction of the importance of art for both people and society. Sara Indrio is therefore also active in modernising the Danish Artist Association and generally developing the relevance and purpose of the unions.

In the public debate, she puts words and data on the potential of music and the performing arts as a profession, professionalism, and indispensable cohesion.

Sara Indrio has released six critically acclaimed albums under her own name and has a seventh in the pipeline for release in March this year. At the same time, she has written music for films, TV series and theatre performances, taken a postgraduate degree in journalism and studied for a master's degree in music didactics.

Sara Indrio speaks 5 languages and comes from an international background - also in her music career. Even before graduating as a percussionist from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory, she toured Sweden as a musician with artists such as Erik Gadd and Rebecka Törnqvist. She has worked as a musician on countless concerts and album cuts with artists such as Niels Hausgaard, Nikolai Nørlund, Alberte Winding, Bo Kaspers Orkester, The Savage Rose, Cohen Tribute and many more. As an actress, she has appeared in feature films such as Italian for Beginners and The Shameful Daughter.
