The Danish Artist Association supports the open letter demanding better conditions for touring artists between the EU and the UK - and encourages members to sign it too.

Since Brexit, many impractical barriers have made it far more difficult for artists and musicians to tour across the EU and UK. Bureaucratic and financial obstacles need to be removed - for the benefit of artists, audiences and venues alike.

A united European performing arts community from both the EU and the UK is now behind an open letter to EU leaders and the UK government ahead of a summit in London on 19 May.

The letter urges politicians such as Ursula von der Leyen and Keir Starmer to include culture and touring conditions on the agenda when they meet next month to discuss EU-UK co-operation.

The current arrangements restrict cultural organisations, artists and musicians working on projects across the EU and the UK, and the letter calls on politicians to work towards more flexible conditions, thus strengthening cultural and economic growth in Europe.

More culture between EU and UK - sign the open letter

The Danish Artist Association supports the initiative and encourages all members within music and performing arts to support it by signing the open letter. The letter can be read (in English) and signed here before 24 April.: EU Open Letter

The problems affecting European tours and projects that cross the EU and the UK are also described by both EU-UK Domestic Advisory Group and EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly.
